Description

Type 4 Safety Light Curtains for Industrial Applications

Safety Light curtains are electro sensitive devices using one or more light beams, emitted by an Emitter and received by a Receiver, to create an intangible controlled area.

Fundamental characteristics are:

Safety type – Defines the self-monitoring and safety principles contained in the device; it must be chosen as a function of the risk level characterising the machine.

Protected height – This is the height controlled by the light curtain. If it is positioned horizontally, this value shows the depth of the protected zone.

Range – This is the maximum working distance that may exist between the emitter and the receiver. When deflection mirrors are used, it is necessary to take into account the attenuation factor introduced by each of them, which it is about 15%.

Response time – This is the time it takes for the light curtain to transmit the alarm signal from the time the protected zone is interrupted.

Resolution – The resolution of a light curtain is the minimum size of an object that, placed into the controlled area, will obscure the controlled zone and hence stop the hazardous movement of the machine.

The Admiral series of light curtains are typically best used for the protection of high-risk industrial applications.

The breadth of the range, including Master/Slave models for cascade connection of two barriers and models with Floating Blanking.

Long Range models with 2, 3 and 4 allow beams reach a max. of 60 m, while the Dual model Beams reaches the max. of 80 m.

Safety light curtain with integrated muting functions

The new SAFEGATE type 4 range of safety light curtains is the ideal solution for the protection of a vast number of high-risk industrial applications, in particular those requiring a highlevel of integration of the muting functions.

SAFEGATE guarantees the integration of the muting sensors that can be connected directly to the safety light curtain.

Hardware configurable models (SM/SMO) allow configuration of the muting logic and functional parameters via the main connector wiring
Programmable models (SMPO) functional parameters configuration is managed instead via Safegate Configuration Software (SCS)

The Janus type 4 family of safety light curtains is the ideal solution for the protection of a vast number of high-risk industrial applications, in particular those requiring a high level of integration of the safety functions.

For example, in the models with built-in Muting function,Janus guarantees the independence of the light curtain from the control circuits of the system (often distant from the protected gate) and, where necessary, also the integration of the Muting sensors.

Settings of each function integrally performed via themain connector. No need of configuration via software.

Reer Water Tight Light Curtains

Description

Watertight light curtains permits safety to still be number one priority alongside any workspace with exposure to steam or water.

All products use WT (WaterTight) cases that are able to withstand water under a IP 69K protection rating.

Light curtains featuring a H (Heated) rating, are thermostatically-controlled to heat the system and can work down to -25°C.

Light curtains featuring a F (Food) rating, are made of non-toxic components, allowing use alongside Food & Beverage assembly lines where frequent washdown procedures are requested.
